This template helps children to write notes in church. On the left side, they can copy the text (they can also do this afterwards at home), and they can write the names they heard.
On the right side, they write the things they learned, and the words they heard but did not understand. The information they write down can be a good tool for parents to start a conversation about the sermon. If you have a booklet setting on your printer or photocopier, you can print the template and photocopy it as a booklet. If you don't you can choose to print two pages on one sheet in order to have both pages side by side. |
Display the text
You can get a letterboard to display the text of the sermon, so you and your children are reminded of the sermon throughout the week. You can point the children to the text once in a while, and ask them what it means or what they remember of the sermon.
Instead of a letterboard, you can also use a whiteboard, a chalkboard, or paper. Sometimes, when the text includes multiple verses, you might choose to summarize the text, or to display only the key verse. |
